The Story of Where In India!

From a frustrating Google search to a community led movement.

It started with a trip...

The story starts when I was planning a trip to Pondicherry. Like anyone else, I wanted a simple site that just showed me the best places to visit.

But searching Google felt like a chore. Every site was cluttered with ads, long-winded SEO text, and endless scrolling. It was overwhelming.

That's when the idea hit: Why isn't there a simple travel directory? A clean site that just lists the best places and gives you the direct Google Maps link—because that's what we all use for navigation anyway.

Real People, No AI

As I started building, I realized another problem. With the AI boom, the internet is flooding with generic, AI-generated listicles. People don't want that. They want originality. They want human experiences.

So, I decided to build this differently. I turned to the community.

I picked 5-6 cities and reached out to locals and travelers on Reddit. I asked them for their genuine favorites. It was a 2-week exercise, but the data we got was pure gold—authentic recommendations you can trust.
